Manizales High School.
In the last decade, Manizales High School has been getting low Engish scores at the national exams. As a result, the school is losing prestige. That is why we are planning to hire native speakers in order to improve the students' English skills.
There are a lot of advantages for hiring them, such as a better immersion and interaction in English culture. We are looking for sponsors and sources from the Ministry of Education but the planned budget is not complete.
This is the reason why we are contacting you. We will have a meeting next Saturday 19 to discuss this issue and to raise awareness about how native speakers are going to help your children's education. We will discuss some ideas; for instance, giving accomodation or raising tuition fees.
Thanks for paying attention
We will see you on February 19 at 8 o'clock at the July-8 teather.
Private prisons in the United States are earning incredible lucrative profits by making the incarceration system a business which they keep by giving clauses to prisoners to stay longer. Today, nearly 1/5 of federal prisoners are held in a for profit facility causing the correction corporation of America (CCA) to earn $ 1.7 billions last year. interesting, right? The more people that are in prison the more money they make.
Eventhough jails are thought to be the place where criminals are punished, it is very disappointing to realize that the worst criminals are the ones who own them.
One of the most difficult challenges teachers have to face is getting students attention. No matter how dedicated a teacher could be if there are not any didactic sources in the classroom he will lose an important percentage of attention.
It is a fact that the students interests could distance from school and giving theoretical classes seems not to be the best way teachers can get students attention. This is why information technologies are becoming very relevant to teachers as effective didactic sources.
Nowadays teachers can choose between many different I.T.'s in order to encourage students to look for information in diverse ways that are alike to their interests.
Teachers should take advantage of these new sources that appear every day, especially those teachers who are used to theoretical classes, mainly because most of people are immersed on this new information technologies.
Giving a class to a large group could be a headache to teachers especially because managing discipline could get harder if you have to supervise many people. so, how can you effectively manage a large group?
The first thing you need to know is that supervising discipline is hard even if you have a small group. At the moment of controlling a group you better be sure of getting student's attention. A student who is focused on what you are teaching will never interrupt the classroom discipline.
The second thing you need to have in mind is that it could be difficult to leave a seed of knowledge in every student's head. This is why, once you have controlled discipline, you need to use didactic sources in order to maintain their motivation and their attention.
Finally, be sure of having a nice and professional relationship between you and your students. If they really appreciate you and what you do in class, they will feel Comfort at participating with you and your class.

I remember that the first time i went on a journey on my own was when i was seventeen years old. My highschool friends and i had been saving money for months to pay a travel ticket to Peru. I had been working weekends at a Mc Donalds for a year and finally i could gather enough to pay the trip and buy a digital camera with which we recorded all our experiences.

Dear member,
we are writing to tell you that the famous travel writer Mr. David Price will unfortunately not be able to attend our next club meeting. Although Mr. Price will not be there to sign copies of his new book Around The World In Eighty Ways, members of the club will be able to buy a copy at the price of twenty five pounds. If you would like to reserve a copy of the book, please contact the clun secretary.
Dear Jenny,
I have hust received a notification of our next club meeting. Mr David will not be able to attend the meeting to sign the books. Can you believe it? I feel deeply upset since we have been working for months to date an appointment with Mr David and he simply canceled it. I expect an explanation from the club directors next time we meet. I hope to see you there.
With love, Daniel.

Mrs Margaret,
Today in the morning i received your notification of Mr David's cancellation to our monthly club meeting. I would like to express what i think about it. All members of the club have been working for months to make an appointment with Mr David and many of us had to cancel some of our commitments at work to be able to attend the book signing.
I am deeply disappointed with the lack of commitment, organization and seriousness of the club. Because of this i would like to present my formal retirement from the club.
However, I would like you to send the book to my house as a sign of respect.
I greatly appreciate the time you have taken to read my e-mail.
Yours sincerely, Daniel Gaitán.
Opposite day is a story about a hypothetical day where everything is exactly the opposite and events happen following a twisted sequence.
The sun disappears as he does every year.
I better get up, it's already six o'clock.
I'll try to hurry up but i seem to be out of luck.
Anyway i'm gonna be okay, because today
is that special day, called by many ¡Opposite day!
I'm prepared to go out but first i have to look around.
I see children leaving their houses,
going to work to please their little bosses.
They look so nice with their shirts so white and such blue ties.
Far beyond at the countryside, farmers woke up early
to return inside, what hens have laid at night.
Further away near the lake, dogs are being chased in all wild ways
by desperate and temperate geese.
Look at the flowers cease and decease,
fading away, turning into gray but
don't you be afraid ¡It's opposite day!
Firemen are the danger of the streets
sacking and burning down everything.
Certainly paramedics are not better
but you already know it if you're clever.
You shouldn't trust policemen again,
just take a look at them releasing immoral men,
to jail they will not come back again.
Nobody has to obey ¡It's opposite day!
What is happening in the park?
by moving all around, trees are leaving marks.
As ruined men begin to take roots,
there's no more place for their suits.
Pigeons on the benches feed hungry
old men sitting on the branches.
I see a dandelion blowing a girl
taking away all her beautiful hair.
What else can I say? ¡It's opposite day!
For what i see through my window
I better take my blanket and pillow
and reach my own way to my bed
by the way ¡It's opposite day!
